Craig Hella Johnson, conductor
Stephen Redfield, concertmaster
Stephen Redfield performs Mendelssohn's buoyant, dramatic violin concerto in honor of the composer's 200th anniversary year. Mozart's final symphony was written under the pressures of debt and despair over the death of his daughter, but the music teems with emotion and sparkles with the composer's wit, charm, and revolutionary talent. Pre-concert talk at 7pm.
